PDO Non Surgical Face & Body Lift

PDO Thread Lift is an effective treatment that helps boost collagen production (which helps improve skin firmness and elasticity).

It uses special threads made from a material called polydioxanone (PDO). These types of threads have been safely used in medicine for over 40 years. At our clinic, we place these PDO threads under the skin to gently lift and tighten it. They will then naturally dissolve in the body after about 6 months, but the results can last up to 2 years.

Thread Lifts can also be combined with Botox and dermal fillers to enhance your skin rejuvenating results. Plus, the lifting effect is visible straight away. However, as collagen continues to build over time, the best results usually appear around 3 months after treatment.

Will PDO Threads Work For You?

PDO Thread Lifts are a great choice if you want to gently lift and tighten areas like your cheeks, jawline, or neck where the skin is starting to sag a bit. Studies have shown that most people worldwide are very happy with their results, with satisfaction rates between 94% and 100%.

In short, a PDO thread lift treatment offers an easy and relatively quick way to look fresher and younger without surgery or a long recovery time. We also use high-quality threads and the latest methods to give you outstanding results. Plus, our skilled team will always make sure you feel safe and comfortable throughout the entire process.

The Procedure

It is essential to avoid wearing makeup before treatment to reduce the risk of infection. Additionally, it is important to refrain from taking anti-inflammatory medications (such as aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, warfarin, or diclofenac) for at least 5 days before treatment, unless prescribed for a medical condition. Similarly, avoid alcohol for 48 hours prior to treatment, as it increases the risk of bruising and bleeding. Arnica may be taken 5 days before treatment to help reduce the risk of bruising. We advise our patients to drink a minimum of 2 litres of water 24 hours before treatment to ensure that the skin and body are fully hydrated. Last but not least, avoid extreme exercise for 5 hours before your PDO procedure.

During the procedure, you may experience minor discomfort. Our PDO expert will ensure that you are comfortable and at ease. We will apply a numbing cream for around 30 minutes to minimise any potential discomfort. The skin will be cleaned and sterilised before the treatment starts. Occasionally, you may feel some pinching or poking as the threads travel under the skin; however, nothing too extreme.

After treatment, post-care is the most critical stage of PDO thread lifts for ensuring maximum results. It is imperative that you follow your practitioner’s aftercare advice closely. You must not pick, rub, or massage the treated area for 48 hours until the thread entry points are fully healed. To avoid additional swelling, avoid hot baths, hot showers, saunas, and steam rooms until the swelling subsides. It is also important to avoid exercising for 7 days after your PDO treatment. Arnica cream and tablets can help reduce bruising. We will ensure you are fully informed about what to do and what to avoid before you leave the clinic.

You should expect some swelling for 5 – 7 days following the procedure, and bruising may occur due to the insertion of the threads. Mild discomfort and increased sensitivity in the treated areas are normal and part of the healing process. It is essential to avoid picking, rubbing, or massaging the treated areas for 7 – 10 days to ensure proper healing and avoid complications. You can resume cleansing and reintroduce your skincare routine after 48 hours, but be gentle to avoid any irritation. Following these guidelines will help achieve the best results and ensure a smooth recovery.

FAQs

Can I have a PDO Thread Lift if I just had filler?

Yes, you can. PDO works beautifully in conjunction with other injectable treatments. A combination of treatments is sometimes needed to achieve client expectations.

A PDO lift is generally considered safe, especially since PDO threads have been used in the medical field for decades. According to a broad-scale systematic review conducted with around 160 patients, this treatment had an overall complication rate of 34%, meaning extreme adverse reactions are relatively rare.

We understand that the process of injecting or inserting the threads may sound painful, but this procedure is actually quick and largely painless. This is thanks to the application of a topical numbing cream and its non-surgical, minimally invasive nature. If you have previously undergone treatments such as dermal fillers or Botox, you can expect a similar experience.

You can find PDO Thread Lift treatments at our clinic, conveniently situated in the heart of Covent Garden, London. Our prestigious clinic is equipped with the latest technology and staffed by experienced professionals dedicated to providing exceptional care. Contact us today to book your appointment and take the first step towards a refreshed, revitalised look.

The number of PDO threads needed depends on things like the area being treated and the results you are looking for. Bear in mind, everyone’s needs are different, so the amount of lifting or tightening you want will affect how many threads are used.

They can typically stay in your body for about 6 to 8 months. However, once your body has safely absorbed them, they continue working long afterwards.
