One of our skincare specialists will assess your skin condition and determine if Sculptra is suitable for you. When you get the go-ahead, please, if possible, avoid blood-thinning medications for at least one week before treatment to minimise the risk of bruising.
Skin cleansing is done, followed by the application of a numbing cream for convenience and comfort. Sculptra is then injected into the skin with the use of a fine needle or cannula. Multiple injections are given based on the desired results.
Avoid strenuous exercise, direct sun, and alcohol for at least 24 hours. Additionally, the use of cold compresses or cold packs to the treated area may be recommended, along with any other individual aftercare recommendations to minimise swelling and bruising.
Results from Sculptra can last for two years or even longer, depending on such factors as age, skin condition, and lifestyle. Since the treatment encourages the body to make its own collagen, the outcome will be very natural and soft, with no ‘overfilled’ look. Periodic touch-up treatments may be necessary in order to maintain the desired outcome, especially after the initial series of injections.
