Refrain from taking blood-thinning medications (e.g., aspirin, ibuprofen) or supplements (e.g., fish oil) at least a week before your appointment to minimise bruising. Also, avoid alcohol for 24 – 48 hours before the procedure to reduce the risk of bruising.

Once the correct product has been chosen, a local anaesthetic cream may be applied if needed to help minimise any discomfort.
